JOB Bit By An Eel!
Posted by: Brink | Friday, September 21, 2007Jamie O'Brien is currently nursing an injury, but it's not what you think! No he didn't punch the reef while surfing second reef pipe or scrape off the bottom in death defying teahupoo, nor did he slice his finger on his surfboard fins trying to land a crazy air...
Jamie got a nasty bite from an eel while free diving! I think it's safe to say, you shouldn't stick your hand in dark mysterious holes 100ft under the water! Someone tell the J.O.B. To catch up on his SurvivorMan and Man vs. Wild re-runs on discover channel! Get well soon buddy!"

Congrats to Mason Ho for placing 2nd at the Billabong Pro Jr / Ronnie Burns Memorial contest at sunset beach last weekend!
Even though he didn't walk away with the win, Mason solidified his reputation as being one of the best surfers coming up at the world famous Sunset on Oahu's North Shore. Scoring in the 9’s and winning each one of his heats leading up to the final! Congrats, Mason!

etnies & Mike Relm Giveaway!
Posted by: Brink | Wednesday, September 12, 2007
Born and raised in what has become known as the mecca of turntablism, San Francisco, Mike Relm played a critical role in the skratch music movement of the late 90's producing records and events. "Skratchcon 2000", which he directed, is to skratching what "A Great Day In Harlem" is to jazz. He made his debut on the silver screen on Doug Pray's award winning film "Scratch", where he was documented in a studio jam session with DJ Shadow. Relm's unmistakable style also led to a collaboration with Money Mark for music on "Along Came Polly" (Universal, 2004). Upon meeting director John Hamburg during the studio session, Relm was brought on to appear in several of the film's scenes.
Mike Relm has become a worldwide leader in the visual arts. He transforms every stage into his personal film festival, manipulating music and movies live to awestruck audiences. Never before has anyone attempted such an act, and it has been called the most brilliant thing a DJ has ever done on stage.
Mike Relm is also a good friend of etnies, so we decided to feature him as the September artist of the month and hold a little contest. Fill out the form for your chance to win an etnies and Mike Relm prize pack!
