After a long weekended of surf and great waves at the 2008 Alas Tour Stop at Punta Roca in San Salvador, both Jairo and Jason took the podium in both Juniors and Open category.
Jairo Perez made the Juniors final and was able to get second place, Jason made both finals and was able to take third in Juniors and second in Open. His second placing awarded him a whopping $2,000.00 USD cash prize!!!!
Congratulations Jason & Jairo!
One Track Mind Premiere

One Track Mind Premiere & Interview

"The film is a pretty straightforward discussion with the guys who are pushing surfing to places it's never been. It covers everything from the latest boards and fins these guys are riding to their stories about beating up judges. There are no discussions like, 'Surfing's made out of magic and it makes me feel so connected to the fish' in this flick."

Trestles Hearing

After filling the meeting hall, people made their way to overflow areas and eventually crowded outside knowing their presence was felt.

Posted by: Alex | Friday, September 19, 2008It's time to rally for Trestles one more time! We did it before and won! But the TCA isn't backing down; they've appealed the Coastal Commission's decision against the Toll Road expansion... and we can't let them win on appeal, right?
If you've ever appreciated this natural resource, either in person or through the countless surf films and photos of our beloved beach break, please don't let a piece of overpriced freeway ruin it for future generations. Rally the troops and join us THIS MONDAY, September 22nd, at the CA Coastal Commission Hearing. We'll be there all day long, but even if you can only come for an hour or two, every single person's physical presence will make a difference. Carpool if you can but just get there! Save Trestles!

Posted by: Alex | Wednesday, September 17, 2008The first ever etnies & Surfrider Beach Clean Up was a success! Volunteers had a good time for a good cause and at the cost of only a couple hours spent outside on a perfect SoCal morning. Not a bad deal.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help. As you can see from the bags of trash, we really made a difference but the fight for Trestles is not over yet. More info on the Trestles Hearing coming soon!

Trestles Beach Clean Up!

South Orange County Chapter Chairman Rick Erkeneff will lead us from Upper to Lower Trestles, all the while discussing the environmental, cultural, recreational and social relevance of our beloved State Beach... and the devastating impact of the proposed 241 Toll Road expansion.
So come on down, hang out and help out. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. We'll meet at the Trestles parking lot at Christianitos off the 5 freeway. From there we'll pick up everything in our path down to the Lowers, where we'll check out the Boost Mobile Pro and finish up at the Surfrider tent. See you there!

"The Pursuit" World Premier Tonight
